Magnet App Simulator is a free tool designed to load Android application data from a forensic case into a virtual environment so investigators can view and interact with the data in a way that resembles the original device experience.

Magnet says the tool helps examiners understand how a suspect interacted with application data and present that evidence to juries and stakeholders in a familiar mobile appearance. It runs completely outside Magnet AXIOM, so it can be used with data exported from other forensic review tools as well.

App Simulator is strongest when the problem is interpretation and presentation of Android app data, not acquisition or deep artifact parsing by itself. Magnet also notes that it requires a Windows 10 Intel-based PC and that two downloads are needed for it to work.

Magnet App Simulator is a free Magnet Forensics standalone tool for rendering Android application data in an interactive virtual environment so examiners and stakeholders can understand and present the evidence more naturally.
